QUESTION
I am new to Kubernetes and am working on a Computer Vision project, in which, some of the services are deployed in Kubernetes and some of the services are running in a cluster of physical servers (Nvidia Jetson Boards) which has GPU. Can the non-Kubernetes services access the Persistent Volume of the K8s environment? Please let me know,
- How to expose a Persistent Volume from K8s and mount it as a shared drive in a different physical server?
- Instead using Persistent Volume, can I have a volume in the host machine where K8s is deployed and can I use it for both k8s and non-k8s services?
Please note that we are connecting Cameras through USBs to each of those Jetson Boards, so we cannot bring those Jetson Boards as nodes under K8s.

This is a better approach. Example, you can use NAS to back the k8s and the nvidia board cluster, both clusters can share files thru the NAS mounted volume. For pods on k8s cluster to access the mount point is as simple as using
hostPath
, or a more sophisticated storage driver depends on your storage architecture.

. However when I connect the controller via bluetooth to my Coral board, I am seeing nothing at that location, maybe because of Mendel instead of Ubuntu? What is the recommended way to connect a PS4 controller and access it from C++? Is there a different joystick I should use?

Answered 2022-Feb-10 at 20:26After doing some research I learned about the difference between joydev and evdev on linux. It seems my PS4 controller showed up as a joydev device on the Jetson, whereas on the Coral running Mendel it showed up as an evdev device. I am unable to install any packages with miniforge 3 (conda 4.11.0).
I am attempting this on a Jetson Nano Developer Kit running Jetpack. Initially it had conda installed but it seems to have gone missing, so I decided to reinstall conda. It looks like the base version of anaconda/miniconda is having issues running on ARM processors, and so I downloaded miniforge which apparently is working.

This is the issue. You have a cp36
whl file, so python 3.6. I am suspecting that when you run sudo pip
, your systems pip
is invoked, whereas when you run pip

is used, and cannot install a python 3.6 whl to a python 3.7 env.
Either you need to get the cp37
whl or create a conda env that has python 3.6 installed

There is a ranking that allows to choose when several plugins are available for a type of decoding. For H264 decoding, on Jetsons the highest rank would be nvv4l2decoder, that outputs into NVMM memory (in NV12 format unless otherwise specified) that is suitable for autovideosink that will instantiate plugin nvoverlaysink reading from NVMM memory.
For reading from OpenCv application, you would need frames in system memory, and better in BGR format for color frames. So you would first convert NV12 in NVMM memory output of the decoder into BGRx format and copy into system memory with plugin nvvidconv. Then use CPU-based plugin videoconvert for conversion into BGR:

I've been working with a Jetson running Ubuntu. There's two cameras attached to it. A CSI camera that uses gstreamer and a USB uv (uv light) camera.
I can detect and run the CSI camera just fine. But whenever I try to connect to the USB camera, it either throws an error or tries to connect to the CSI camera.

Answered 2022-Jan-28 at 13:06You would have to specify V4L capture backend for using V4L controls. Seems here that without specifying it, gstreamer backend is used, and it instanciates a pipeline with v4l2src, but you cannot change the resolution after creation.
So the simplest solution is just using V4L2 capture backend:
